Pond Days

Pond 1 picture Pond 2 picture
December 2009 – The pond is completely overgrown and if left would cease to exist! The team move in to determine what vegetation and unwanted material needs to be removed.

Pond 3 picture Pond 4 picture
The site is carefully checked for pond and plant life that needs to remain. Some of the silt is carefully removed to lower the bed of the pond.

Pond 5 picture Pond 6 picture
Approximately 50% of the pond is cleared to reveal open water, which is vital to attract water beetles. The team have been careful to maintain a balance between the various types of pond habitat.

We will continue clearing excess vegetation and silt at various intervals over the coming years.
If you are interested in helping, please check the web site and notice boards for further information.

Volunteer Days
